2 new necklaces!

I just wanted to share two more necklaces I recently finished. I also finished a large painting, but haven't taken pics yet. I hopefully will tomorrow. It took me over a week to finish it. I started 3 smaller paintings today. Sometimes, I just start playing around with backgrounds before I know what direction I am going, so that's what I did today. I currently have an addiction to crackle paint! I hope to have some new prints available in my Etsy store soon. It's been a busy week here, and the first half of the week I was sick with a soar throat.
Well, please stop in again soon to see my new work!

Funny cat pictures...

Arrrgh! Who dare disturb the sleep of me pirate cat? You be walkin' the plank Matey!

I love taking pics of my two silly kitties. I tried to take a pic of Pudgie yesterday, but she yawned, and right as the camera clicked, this is the result I got....

I have been to Narnia and back.

Yesterday night I decided to start on organizing and cleaning out the closet in my office/work room. It had grown out of control and had spilled out onto my work table. There wasn't an open spot. One could get lost in there...possibly end up in Narnia! Every time I would sit down to create something, I would cringe, not knowing where I would even put the finished product. When you are a painter, space fills up around the house pretty quickly. My finished jewelry all fits nicely into neat containers. But canvases.....they were filling up every closet. I had started hanging finished pieces on our walls, even though they most certainly didn't go with the decor.
So, I began the process of parting with all my crap. I have realized that I am an office supply hoarder. I have more Sharpie pens than I know what to do with. I found the missing giant rubber band ball. I found a sheet of the first business cards I ever designed and printed up when I first started making jewelry about 7 yrs. ago. They were horribly silly looking and I nearly wet myself laughing.
The closet project finally wound up today around 3 pm. My work table is completely open, the closet has plenty of space for all my canvases, and now I can finally create without feeling guilty about neglecting my home office.
I can hardly believe tomorrow is Thursday already. Have any plans for the weekend? It's my turn to pick the restaurant for Sat., so I am already pondering my options. Have a good one!

Two new paintings to share

Here are the two paintings I have to share from last week. I would have liked to have gotten more done, but I got a little derailed after getting a tetanus shot booster. I haven't had one since I was 16, so I was overdue. They say you should get a booster every 10 yrs. Any-hoo, the shot itself didn't hurt at all, but a day and a half later, it was aching and causing weird muscle spasms in my upper arm. Ibuprofin helped a lot, so if you have to get one, try that. My arm is feeling much better today, so it's back to work.
The two paintings I am sharing will most likely be headed off to a gallery. The Cat & Birds painting is 10 X 20 inches and the Lady with Butterflies (not the official title, lol) is 11 X 14. The gal is a mixed media painting and has 2 inch gallery sides that are painted black. Hope you enjoy them, and hope that everyone had a nice weekend. I will check back in soon!

Evil Eye Necklaces and another Flower Pendant Necklace

These will be the last new jewelry pieces for a while, as I am switching into painting mode now. I almost finished a new painting today. Just a wee bit more to do to it tomorrow. I will post pics of the new ones and they are finished, before I send them off to the gallery. In the mean time, I have these 2 new Evil Eye necklaces and a flower pendant necklace with wire wrapped beaded fringe. A new twist on an old favorite. If you have never seen evil eye jewelry before, Google it for an interesting read. They are thought to ward off evil, protect, and bring good luck in many cultures. I just think they look really cool. They kind of have a Lord of the Rings or medieval look to them.
Well, this gal is sleepy, so off to bed with my tired self. Hope you have a great start to your week!

Happy Saturday!

Mine has been happy so far, mainly because I was able to sleep in till 9 am. That pretty much never happens. I usually get up between 6 and 6:30 am every day. We had horribly noisy storms come through our town last night that seemed to go on forever. We had winds over 60mph, hail, constant lightening, and objects blowing around outside. At one point, I was sure there was going to be a tornado or something, so the kitties and I hung out in the bathroom for an hour. It is the innermost room in the house, and the only one without windows. Luckily, besides some downed trees and a couple of near losses of electricity, we pulled through just fine.

I finished a few more pieces of jewelry yesterday, and will post them to my Etsy store on Monday. I sent my order of jewelry and art prints off to the gallery yesterday. You can now find my artwork and jewelry in three different brick & mortar places: Pink Cloud Boutique in NY, Bambi in Philly, and the Rome Arts Consignment Gallery in Rome, GA. I will be sending some actual paintings to Rome eventually. I will be working on those in the next few weeks.

Well, whatever you are doing today, I hope everyone has a safe and happy Saturday. We are off to do some grocery shopping, head to a new library (I am hoping it will have a nice art section...our other libraries don't), and out to eat at the Outback. Rob has a hankering for steak. But then again, when DOESN'T he have a hankering for steak? ( :

Two more necklaces to share

These are made with super neat etched black agate beads I got on my trip to MN/WI. I had enough to make two necklaces, so I made a simple one, and a more extravagant 2 stranded one. They are both for sale in my Etsy store and would look great with tons of outfits since they are neutral in color. Enjoy!

Off to the gallery...

Here are two pieces I just had to share. One if a custom order, and the other is off to the Rome Georgia Council for the Arts Gallery. I would love to make a necklace for myself like this one, but would feel guilty because of the time it takes to make. Hope you enjoy the eye candy. I have a few more necklaces to add to my Etsy store and will do so as soon as I get some time. Have a super rest of the week! I can't believe it has gone by so fast!

More new jewelry added to my Etsy store!

Here are two more pieces I just added today. I have some more things to finish and add. My canvas has arrived, so I can start on my paintings going to the gallery. I am so excited! Hope your Tuesday is going well. Mine started out bumpy, but is improving. Take care....

Smoking kills.

My family, like many others, has been affected by cancer. We can remind those around us, struggling with addiction, that we love them, and want them to be around for a long time. Too many lives are cut much too short. I have been working on this line of jewelry over the past few weeks, and am finally ready to share it with you. I will be adding them to my Etsy store tomorrow, if Etsy has their glitches fixed. They have been down for maintenance on and off today. Hope you like these!

How was your weekend?

Hope everyone had a nice Independence Day weekend. We ended up not seeing any fireworks this year, but instead sat through two different movies after eating at the Cheesecake Factory. We came home in the afternoon on Sunday. At 2am, I woke up to kids screaming and a barking dog outside. The same neighbors whose children have caused numerous problems in the neighborhood (including vandalizing a house in construction with red spray paint), seem to think it is okay for children under the age of 13 to be roaming the streets and causing mischief at 2 am. I went outside and told them to go inside. Woke up this morning to my mailbox damaged. Called the cops this morning, and they spent about half an hour over at their house.
I am itching to move out of this neighborhood and Port St. Lucie in general. So, I am to the point where I am seriously considering heading to Target to get a candy bar. It has been one of those mornings.
I have to take the kitties in for shots/exams this week, and I have to go and get a Tetanus shot update too. Not looking forward to that. Hopefully things will improve as the week goes on.
